Karen Riggins, MD, PhD, is a licensed GI Oncologist, physician-scientist, and ordained minister of the Gospel. Throughout her years of clinical practice and scientific investigation, she has walked closely with patients facing life-altering cancer diagnoses. In that sacred space between medicine and ministry, she has witnessed not only the physical impact of cancer, but also the profound spiritual questions that often follow.

Dr. Riggins understands that many patients quietly wrestle with the Will and Sovereignty of God after hearing the words, “You have cancer.” As both a physician and a minister, she recognizes that suffering can deeply challenge faith — yet it can also become a pathway to deeper intimacy with God.

 

Her calling is rooted in supporting patients beyond their treatment plans. Christ over cancer is a mandate to create a healing community. It is a safe space to go when faith has been bruised or even broken. Through this new Christian community for cancer patients, Dr. Riggins seeks to create a space where believers can strengthen their faith walk, renew their minds, and gain God’s perspective in the midst of uncertainty. She believes that no one should journey through cancer falsely believe that God’s has forgotten about His children.

 

Grounded in prayer, scripture, and sound medical understanding, this community is committed to helping individuals grow in spiritual resilience and intimacy with Christ. Its foundation is prayer for renewed minds — minds anchored in truth, hope, and the Sovereignty of God.

 

Dr. Riggins believes that while cancer may impact the body, it does not define identity, determine destiny, or diminish God’s presence. Through compassionate guidance, Biblical teaching, and faith-centered support, she is devoted to helping patients and families walk forward with confidence in God’s love, purpose, and eternal promises.
